Aurora for Aurorans

Leanne knows Aurora’s thriving industries, competitive location, and thoughtful citizens offer limitless opportunities for growth and prosperity. She understands a focus on infrastructure, culture, and safe communities will make Aurora one of the best places to live.

  • A Government that Works for You

Aurora’s potential and needs have outgrown our city’s policies and bureaucratic processes. Inadequate programs are limiting opportunities and leaving many of our neighbors earning less than a livable wage. Leanne is certain that together citizens and city leaders can create constituent-centered policies that enhance our social, economic, and environmental health.

  • A Constituent Focused City Council

It will take a City Council committed to rolling up its collective sleeves to get there. We need a City Council that will work with the community to empower all Aurorans to work together to solve their community ills. Leanne is the City Council candidate who will drive action and keep local government in lockstep with our community.

Who is Leanne?

Leanne Wheeler is a United States Air Force Veteran and Principal of Wheeler Advisory Group LLC, who resides in Aurora, Colorado.  She is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, and has extensive training and leadership in Performance Excellence, Software Development Life Cycle, Energy and Aerospace Sectors, and the Nonprofit Community.  Additionally, Leanne has served on several Boards of Directors and Commissions, in the 7-county Metro area.

In 1992, she received an honorable discharge, and culminated her military service with duty at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Base (NORAD), in Colorado Springs, CO.  Leanne’s post-military career led her to Raytheon where she served in roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of Software, Program, and Quality Management. After the economic downturn of 2008, and following a bout with housing instability and homelessness, Leanne went on to launch her management consultancy business in 2010.

Leanne is a Leadership Aurora alum, she has served on the Aurora Youth Commission under a previous administration, and is serving a current appointment to the Citizens’ Budget Advisory Committee. Recent notable leadership efforts, in partnership with community, include the statewide Proposition 111 ballot initiative win, and the successful appeal to  Aurora City Council, enabling the construction of the Providence at the Heights, a multi-million dollar Permanent Supportive Housing development, in the heart of Aurora.
